Terry Puhl was born in 1956 in Melville, Saskatchewan. This 6'2" left handed batter first appeared in the majors at the age of 21 in 1977 with the Houston Astros. For the next 14 years, Terry would prove to be one of the most outstanding outfielders in the majors. Terry holds the major-league record for career fielding percentage (.993) by an outfielder in 1,000 games or more. He played 5 different seasons without making an error. No slouch at bat, Terry hit over .300 in 3 seasons, retiring with a career average of .280. He batted .526 in the 1980 league championship series against the Phillies. Puhl played in 1,534 games in the majors, the most games played in the major leagues by a Canadian born player. Terry also had 217 stolen bases during his career. Puhl was elected to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995.
