Tar Heels hope to avoid being stung by Yellow Jackets

 The defending national champion North Carolina Tar Heels enduring a total collapse this campaign going 16-15 overall, 5-11 in league play face an uphill battle as they try for tournament title number eighteen. UNC isn't about to make much noise in this years tournament and although Tar Heels have won at least one game in each conference tournament the last five years (9-4 SU, 2-10-1 ATS) the streak could end here.  The Jackets lead by Gani Lawal (13.6 PPG), Derrick Favors (11.9 PPG) staring at a 20-win campaign (19-11, 13-10-1 ATS) and looking to boost their own tournament status just might make it 3-0 against Tar Heels this season. Interesting note, last time Tar Heels lost an opening game in the conference tournament was to Yellow Jackets back in 2003-04.
